A Silent Prayer

Published by discounts4vets at 2:23 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Every last Monday of May, the entire U.S.A is celebrating the Memorial Day. It was formerly known as the Decoration Day wherein the people of United States commemorate the military service personnel who died for the country. The first Memorial Day was observed to honor the Union military who risked their lives throughout the American Civil War. It was then magnified to add those service personnel who died in any war or military action after the World War I (WWI).

The nationwide commemoration occurs at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, Eastern Time. During this day, people are going to the cemeteries and mausoleums to pray and reminisce their loved ones. This is also an ideal time for get together and sporting happenings as it was considered as the informal start of the summer season. Aside from that, many organizations are also holding associated programs where political and communal leaders are delivering speeches to the people.

This year’s Memorial Day happens on the 26th of May. Although there are several military sectors like the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) are contesting to fix its date on May 30, the observance will still continue this year. Different Very Important People such as 2008’s election candidates are expected to give their thinking and emotions for this day through their privilege speeches and congregations.

A request for a real and heartfelt observance of this day is resonating from deep within our hearts and most particularly from the loved ones of these heroes. Let us stop for a moment and relive the memories of our brothers and sisters who have undoubtedly risked their lives to make us live. Our veterans , even though they have been unfettered from deaths all throughout their service era should be also rendered with significance, care and amity. Gone are the days of war for them but the real battle to live are not yet over.

Make this day not just for the deceased who have been heroes for their family and this country but also a day for each one of us who are hoping for a serene and valuable world.
